Use Information From Previous Fund

How an investor who has previously used Vanilla and created a Vanilla profile can re-use responses from a prior subscription questionnaire.

Updated over 9 months ago

If you’ve previously completed a subscription in Vanilla and created a password-protected account, you can save time by copying responses from a past subscription into a new one using the “Use Information from Previous Fund” feature.

Who Can Use This Feature?

This option is available to users who:

  • Have completed at least one closed subscription in Vanilla.

  • Have created a Vanilla account with a password and multi-factor authentication.

  • Are using the same email address across subscriptions.

Note: This feature is not available to users accessing Vanilla via a one-time verification code.

How to Use “Use Information from Previous Fund”

  1. Log in to Vanilla and go to your Dashboard.

  2. Click “Start Subscription” on the new fund tile to open the questionnaire.

  3. If eligible, you’ll see a “Use Information from Previous Fund” button at the top of the questionnaire.

  4. Click the button to view a list of your previous subscriptions, including:

    • Fund name

    • Investor type (Individual, Entity, or Trust)

  5. Select the subscription you want to copy from and click “Populate Form.”

What Happens Next?

  • The questionnaire will auto-fill with responses from the selected subscription.

  • The left-hand menu will show yellow checkmarks for sections that have been populated.

  • You’ll still need to complete the following sections manually:

    • Capital Commitment

    • Contact Sheet

    • Tax Reporting

    • Additional Questions (if applicable)

  • The signing process must also be completed for the new subscription.

Note: If you are a Signatory, you cannot submit more than one Individual or Joint Individual subscription to the same fund. However, you may submit multiple subscriptions for different Trusts or Entities.

Importing Contact Sheet Information

You can also copy contact details from a previous subscription:

  • Go to the Contact Sheet page.

  • Click “Import Contacts From Another Fund.”

  • Select the fund from which you want to import contact information.
