Vanilla supports two types of investor roles. Each role has different permissions and responsibilities within the subscription process.
1. Investor Delegate (Optional)
Assists with completing the investor questionnaire and accessing documents. Cannot sign any subscription documents.
2. Signatory
Signs the subscription documents, can also complete the questionnaire, and download documents.
If your investment requires multiple signatories, you can add them in the “Signatories” section of the questionnaire. Individual investors are limited to one signatory, while Joint Individual investors generally require two signatories.
All listed signatories must sign for the subscription to be complete.
Key Notes
You can only have one role per subscription.
If you're involved in multiple subscriptions, your role may vary across them.
Your role determines what actions you can take with regards to signing. Either role may complete a questionnaire and view/download documents.
How to Check Your Role
Within any subscription:
Go to the “Delegates” or “Signatories” page in the questionnaire.
You’ll see a list of all users and their assigned roles for that subscription.
If you are an individual investor type and self-identified as the sole signatory while opening the questionnaire, you may not see the "Signatories" page in your view.
